Being fresh out of college, I have a lot of enthusiasm for journalism and learning new things. My concentration was in reporting and editing, but I am teaching myself the ways of new media--social networking, vlogs, podcasts, creating video packages, etc.
What kind of help/insight do you hope to get from this community?
I co-founded a sports niche website, and I feel there is a real demand for the services we offer. I want to learn how to grow, promote and maintain this website.
I think we should use the RJI Collaboratory incubator to develop:
Building blocks for geographic- or topic-based local Web news sites, "How-To" handbook, News apps and widgets

Andrea, a belated welcome to the Collaboratory! We were really interested in getting feedback to you about your project, so we've posted about it in our weekly What's New blog that's broadcast out to all 400 members. Check it out here.
Meanwhile, to make it easier to get around the network, we've got a "How We're Using This Site" page that provides more detail on the different areas of the Collaboratory and the ways to make best use of them to not only share ideas, but to get projects up and running: http://rjicollab.ning.com/page/how-were-using-this-site.
And you can keep track of latest activities on the network by visiting the What's New page: http://rjicollab.ning.com/page/whats-new.
Anyway, poke around a bit and if you don't see the conversation you want to have or the project you think matters, feel free to start it.
Thanks for joining us! Adam Glenn on behalf of the RJI Collaboratory
